CAMP INFORMATION

THE PROGRAM

For over fifteen years, the Grinnell Sports Camp has brought the love of sports to area youth. Participants will learn fundamentals in basketball, baseball/softball, and soccer while participating in drills and activities to improve their individual skills and teamwork. Each camp session will focus on a different sport. The focus will be on fun and enjoyment, as well as athletic development. Instruction takes place on the campus of Grinnell College, in the Charles Benson Bear Recreation and Athletic Center ‘39, and the rest of the incredible athletic facilities. A recreational swim in Grinnell College’s Russell K. Osgood Pool will be incorporated into every camp session.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration will take place on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment may be limited to ensure safety and appropriate coach-to-child ratio. Participants will meet in the first floor lobby of the Grinnell College Charles Benson Bear Recreation and Athletic Center ‘39 prior to the start of every camp session. 

All campers need to bring to camp is appropriate footwear, a water bottle marked clearly, and a bathing suit and towel for the recreational swim. A change of clothes is optional. Hats and sunblock are also optional. Campers in baseball/softball should bring a glove, if available. Participants in soccer must wear shin guards. All other equipment will be provided by the camp staff. Each camper will receive a T-shirt.

The Grinnell Sports Camp is an opportunity for young people ages 6 to 13.

CAMP SCHEDULE AND COSTS

Pricing is based on the number of weeks a camper registers for, and campers can register for one week or both weeks. The cost reflects the price of each participant. 

Campers will gather together in the Natatorium Lobby between 12:45 - 1pm each day. Campers will gather for pick-up in the Natatorium Lobby between 4 - 4:15pm each day.

• Softball/Baseball from 1pm - 4pm 
• Swimming 3:15 - 3:45pm each afternoon
• $125 per participant ($100 for camp + $25 registration fee)
• June 17 - 21
• Basketball from 1pm - 4pm
• Swimming 3:15 - 3:45pm each afternoon
• $125 per participant ($100 for camp + $25 registration fee)

There is a one-time $25 registration fee (applied to the total at checkout) required along with the application. If both weeks are purchased, the $25 fee is applied once for a total cost of $225 for both weeks.

Sibling discount: There is a $25 discount per child after the first from each family.
